Toyo's Observer G£-ice is a studdable passenger/light truck winter tyres designed for "tough winter conditions". For areas that experience severe winters, this tyre can be studded for added traction on ice and compacted snow. Optimized stud hole placement delivers better traction and a quieter ride with fewer studs. In addition, circumferential stud distribution has increased to 20 lines.
Furthermore, the company reports that it "fully complies with latest Scandinavian Tire and Rim Organisation regulations, reducing stud density to a maximum of 50pcs/m2 from 1 July 2013.
The tyre contains a range of other technologies, but high-density 3D multi-wave sipes have also been included to "increase tread block rigidity for better ice traction".
