Here’s some tyres you definitely shouldn’t buy. Nankang Tyre UK has warned consumers to avoid illegally-imported, potentially unsafe Nankang tyres. You can easily identify these products by their grey-coloured tread compound.

The problem with the wet grip rating found on every tyre label is that it measures wet grip when the tyre is new – and tyres don’t remain new for very long. This will change in the next few years with the introduction of wet grip testing on worn tyres. The Goodyear Eagle F1 SuperSport RS – the most race-focused member of the new Eagle F1 SuperSport range – has been homologated for the Porsche 911 GT2 RS and 911 GT3 RS. The approved dimensions are 265/35 ZR 20 (99Y) XL for the front axle and 325/30 ZR 21 (108Y) XL for the rear. Both tyres wear Porsche’s ‘N0’ original equipment identifier marking on the sidewall and will be sold through Porsche’s dealer network.

Road safety and breakdown organisation GEM Motoring Assist is warning of a significant rise in pollen levels across much of the UK, with the arrival of warmer weather. GEM is urging drivers who take hay fever remedies to check their medicines carefully before getting behind the wheel, and to be aware of the possible effects these drugs can have on their driving.
