The performance motoring publication stresses that this is particularly the case when choosing the right rubber for performance cars. For its 2020 summer tyre test, Auto Bild Sportscars thus looks at ten size 245/35 R19 (front axle) and 265/35 R 19 (rear) tyres that cover a range of prices and performance levels.

Win for Goodyear, Maxxis value king in ams tyre test

While the usual premium suspects claimed the victors’ podium, the ams test also confirms what Auto Zeitung recently found - that Maxxis is making some great value for money tyres at the moment.

TyreSafe: Legal tread depth still require, despite MoT exemption

Tread depth is essential to keep a vehicle in contact with the road in wet conditions and it remains a legal requirement, despite the introduction of a six-month exemption on MoT for Britain’s motorists. TyreSafe is reminding motorists that a tyre being driven below 1.6mm is illegal and if found by the police could result in a fine of up to £2,500 and three-points being added to a driver’s licence – per tyre.
