Formula E chooses Hankook as tyre supplier

As of next season, Hankook will be the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship tyre supplier. The news came out at The Swarovski Crystal Worlds in Austria on 27 September. WhatTyre was there and saw the Gen3 Formula E vehicle close-up plus Hankook being officially presented with the newly developed Hankook iON race tyres.

Horacio Pagani’s most recent creation, the Utopia, is exclusively equipped with Pirelli P Zero Corsa tyres. Bespoke P Zero Corsa tyres connect the Utopia with the road in size 265/35ZR21 at the front and 325/30ZR22 at the rear. Pirelli also offers a tailor-made P Zero Winter tyre for colder conditions.

Dark Horse: Pirelli tyres for top-end Mustang

Ford has revealed its first entirely new Mustang model since 2014. Sitting at the top of this seventh-generation range is the Mustang Dark Horse, a car Ford calls the “ultimate expression of track capability.” The 5.0-litre V8 is equipped with Pirelli P Zero PZ4 in size 255/40 R19 at the front and 275/40 R19 at the rear.

Bridgestone & Yokohama tyres for Mazda’s first PHEV

Mazda is introducing its first plug-in hybrid, the “crafted in Japan” CX-60, and UK customers will receive their crossover with Bridgestone or Yokohama tyres as standard. Depending on specification, Mazda will equip the CX-60 with either Yokohama Advan V61 tyres in size 235/60R18 103V or the Bridgestone Alenza 001 in 235/50 R20 100W.

Hankook introduces Winter i*cept RS3

Developed as an improved version of the prior-generation Winter i*cept RS2, the new Hankook Winter i*cept RS3 arrives with the promise of shorter braking distances on snow-covered surfaces and improved handling on icy and wet roads. Hankook Tire says this “enhanced successor” uses the latest technologies to surpass the RS2 and “offer even greater levels of safety in everyday life.”
