This year's assessment featured eight tyres, including new models from Michelin, Goodyear, Continental, and Bridgestone. The reigning champion in this size category, Hankook, returned to defend its title, competing against Falken, Pirelli, and Vredestein. Testing took place at Goodyear’s proving ground in Montpellier, France.

Hankook supplies UUHP tyres for Mercedes-AMG GT Coupé

The new Mercedes-AMG GT Coupé comes equipped with Hankook Ventus S1 evo Z tyres as original fitment. These bespoke ultra-ultra-high-performance (UUHP) tyres feature a modified tread pattern and compound to ensure the 585 hp (430 kW) car achieves "maximum grip even in extreme driving conditions." This marks the first partnership between Mercedes-AMG and Hankook, with the tyre maker's M01 (Mercedes-AMG Original) symbol proudly displayed on the tyre's sidewall.

New generation: Pirelli debuts Cinturato All Season SF3

Introducing the new Cinturato All Season SF3, a tyre Pirelli has "designed specifically for city drivers of medium and compact cars who need a safe solution all year round." Since April, Pirelli has been rolling out the SF3 range in sizes for 16- to 20-inch rim diameters, building on the success of the Cinturato All Season SF2 that it launched just three years ago.

Win for Pirelli in Al Volante all-season tyre test

Unlike some all-season tyre tests published so far in 2024, Italian magazine Al Volante has featured the latest models, including the Bridgestone Turanza All Season 6, Continental AllSeasonContact 2, and Pirelli Cinturato All Season SF3. The Al Volante team examined seven tyres in total, fitting the 225/50 R17 to an Audi A4 Avant for testing.
