Six years after launching its first all-season tyre for Europe, Continental has introduced a second-generation tyre that offers increased mileage and good market coverage. Deliveries to dealers and garages across the UK began this month, and a range of 99 dimensions for 15- to 21-inch rim diameters will soon be available.

Brabus is equipping the most powerful car in its range with Continental tyres. The tuning firm has selected Continental SportContact 7 tyres as exclusive fitment for the Brabus 930 and will fit these in the front wheel size 275/35 ZR 21 and rear dimension 335/25 ZR 22.

Insurance broker One Sure Insurance analysed the DVLA's MOT database to find the most common causes of MOT failure among Class 4 vehicles (Cars, vans, motorhomes, and other smaller commercial vehicles). It will come as no great surprise to anyone in the trade that taking first place as the most common reason for a car to fail its MOT are worn or damaged tyres. Across all four tyres, poor condition, or not meeting the legal requirement of at least 1.6mm of tread depth contributed to 1,101,839 MOT failures across the UK in a single year. The driver-side front tyre tread depth accounted for more than a quarter of these, the equivalent of 368,853 MOT failures.

Manchester City Football Club has signed a fourth partnership agreement with Nexen Tire. If the shirt number in the official photo is anything to go by, the latest multi-year deal extends to 2026 and thus covers the club’s tenth anniversary with the tyre maker.
