The penalties for driving without sufficient tyre tread are steep, yet research conducted on behalf of the RAC and TyreSafe suggests that a majority of motorists have no idea how much tread is enough. Nor are they aware of the fines that await should their vehicle’s tyres be found wanting.

The new summer tyre for compact and family cars from Vredestein will improve potential mileage by 30%. The Ultrac+ will be launched in January 2025 as the follow up to the Ultrac with a vast improvement in its environmental impact and total cost of ownership. The brand's manufacturer Apollo Tyres adds that the tyre also reduces rolling resistance by 3%, which contributes to fuel saving or increased range in electric vehicles.

Hankook Tire is continuing its supply of original equipment tyres to the Volkswagen Tiguan with deliveries of the Ventus evo SUV for the third-generation model. The compact SUV is available with the Hankook tyre in five 18-to-20-inch sizes.
