Falken's has expanded the sizes available in its latest all-season and winter tyre ranges. The brand has added the Euroall Season AS220 Pro all-season tyre to its range in 45 sizes, and increased the available sizes of its Eurowinter HS02 and HS02 Pro winter tyres, available now in 45 and 74 sizes respectively.

All-season tyres make a lot of sense for drivers of smaller cars who spend most of their time on urban roads, so it’s surprising that few tyre tests focus on tyre sizes suited to these vehicles. Tyre Reviews has addressed this in its 2023 all-season test by looking at ten tyres in the dimension 195/65 R15. Site founder and resident tester Jonathan Benson fitted the tyres to a VW Golf 7 and evaluated their performance in dry, wet and snowy conditions, and also appraised their comfort and value.

The Korean tyre manufacturer Kumho has developed a tyre made from 80% sustainable materials. The tyre replaces petrochemicals with sustainably sourced and recycled materials. The company has a target to develop products made entirely of sustainable materials by 2045.

Bridgestone will return to a FIA World Championship for the first time in a decade-and-a-half when it begins delivering tyres to Formula E starting in the 2026/27 season. The company will succeed Hankook as the sole tyre supplier under an agreement that covers 2026-2027 through 2029-2030. The start of Bridgestone’s Formula E engagement will coincide with the introduction of Gen4 cars in the championship’s 13th season.

Continental is supplying the original tyres to the BMW’s latest 5 Series models, including the all-electric i5. The tyre manufacturer will supply the SportContact 7 for sporty driving, the energy efficient EcoContact 6 Q summer tyre, and the WinterContact TS 860 S winter tyre. With the launch of two new products, Nokian Tyres is refreshing its summer tyre range. The Nokian Tyres Powerproof 1 and Wetproof 1 will debut in time for summer 2024 in a range of 99 car, CUV and SUV fitments for 15” to 20” rim diameters and T, H, V, W and Y speed ratings.
