Hankook reacts to its 2 category wins in 2025 WhatTyre Awards

Hankook secured three podium placements and places on three more shortlists in the 2025 WhatTyre Tyre of the Year Awards, as iON evo retained its Electric Car Tyre of the Year crown

Three Hankook products made the podium in the 2025 WhatTyre Tyre of the Year Awards, featured in the WhatTyre Buyers Guide 2025. The fifth consecutive year of the prestigious awards highlighted the top tyres on the market across nine different categories, using the site’s proprietary Tyrescore algorithm and its experienced panel of tyre business editors to help identify the best available tyres. Two of the six commended tyres won in their categories: the Hankook Ventus evo was Performance Tyre of the Year 2025 in its debut year, while the Hankook iON evo continued its dominance of the specialist Electric Car Tyre category, retaining its 2024 crown.

Hankook’s 2025 accolades in full were:

Andrew Bogie, editor at Tyrepress and WhatTyre, wrote: “WhatTyre wants above all to raise the level of conversation about tyres. Too often, this highly technical product, the subject of huge research and development operations, which has a massive influence on automotive performance, the sustainability of mobility, and road safety, is underrated as a distress purchase made in haste.”

Performance Tyre of the Year: Hankook Ventus evo

Debuting this year, Hankook is proud to receive the ‘Performance Tyre of the Year 2025’ award for its Hankook Ventus evo. Recognised for its AI-assisted mixing process to precisely distribute silica within the compound for optimal wet grip, extra-rigid sidewalls and tread blocks for enhanced braking distance, and exceptional rolling resistance to improve both fuel economy and tread longevity, the tyre has already made its mark in the industry, earning accolades including a joint fourth-place finish in the 2025 Auto Bild Summer Performance Tyre Test out of 52 competitors.

Innovation in Electric Vehicle Tyres

As the industry moves towards an electric and technology-driven future, the electric vehicle sector represents one of the most significant revolutions in mobility- an area Hankook has focused heavily on since the release of the Hankook iON range in 2022. As pioneers of the first full line of EV tyres, Hankook is proud to be recognised for its innovative approach, receiving the Electric Car Tyre of the Year award in both 2024 and 2025 for its Hankook iON evo tyre, which is specifically optimised for electric vehicles.

Excellence in SUV, Winter, and All-Season Tyres

Hankook was also Highly Recommended in the SUV Tyre of the Year Award 2025 category for its Hankook Ventus Prime 3 X tyre, praised for its balanced performance across wet and dry conditions, precise steering, and short braking distances. Additionally, the premium tyre manufacturer was named a finalist in the Winter Tyre of the Year Award 2025 category for its Hankook Winter i*cept evo 3 tyre, the All-Season Car Tyre of the Year Award 2025 category for its Hankook Kinergy 4S 2 tyre, and the All-Season SUV Tyre of the Year Award 2025 category for its Hankook Kinergy 4S 2 X tyre. These recognitions highlight the brand’s commitment to innovation and excellence across its tyre range.
