Bridgestone at Paris 2024: Tyres, training & sports equipment

As a Worldwide Olympic and Paralympic Partner, Bridgestone Corporation is dedicated to enhancing the experience for athletes, staff, fans, and visitors at the Olympic and Paralympic Games Paris 2024. Bridgestone will contribute various tyres, services, and performance products to support the event.

Tyres & services

As the Official Tire of the Olympic and Paralympic Games, Bridgestone will supply a range of tyres for over 1,000 Toyota vehicles used during the event. This includes the Bridgestone Turanza 6 and Alenza 001, which feature the company’s Enliten technology. Additionally, Bridgestone is providing motorcycle tyres for more than 20 bikes, including those fitted on a prototype Kawasaki hydrogen motorcycle, to support road course events.

More than three dozen Bridgestone-owned Speedy and First Stop tyre and maintenance service centres will operate during the Games, supporting fleet tyres and passenger vehicles. These centres will conduct tyre checks and automotive services for nearly 3,000 cars. Speedy will also offer windscreen repair and replacement services.

Road safety training & sustainable mobility

To promote road safety, Bridgestone has developed an e-learning education module for the nearly 4,000 volunteer drivers of the Paris 2024 fleet. This training emphasises the importance of tyre safety and performance, offering tips on checking tread and maintaining proper inflation.

Supporting Toyota’s 100 per cent electrified passenger vehicle fleet, Bridgestone will provide tyres designed to maximise the performance of Toyota’s hydrogen-powered and inclusive mobility offerings. This includes tyres for 500 Toyota Mirai Fuel Cell Electric Vehicles (FCEV) and two hydrogen-fuelled FCEV buses. Bridgestone is also supplying tyres for 250 Toyota zero tailpipe emission electric Accessible People Movers (APM) that will transport athletes, staff, and fans. These APMs, designed for people with physical disabilities, wear Bridgestone Ecopia EP150 tyres, tyres known for their comfort and low rolling resistance.

In collaboration with Decathlon, Bridgestone will supply over 600 bicycles for non-motorised transport during the Games, with around 500 of these bicycles being donated to local community organisations post-Games.

Sports equipment for athletes

Bridgestone’s contributions also include providing high-performance golf products and adaptive sports equipment. For the Paris 2024 golf events, Bridgestone will supply approximately 3,500 golf balls for use on the tournament practice range. Adaptive athletes will benefit from Bridgestone’s rubber and equipment in competitions, including gloves, wheelchair hand rims, prosthetic running blades, and wheelchair tyres.

Bridgestone is partnering with 40 Olympians, Paralympians, and hopefuls as Team Bridgestone athlete ambassadors. These ambassadors aim to inspire people of all backgrounds and abilities to overcome adversity and pursue their dreams.
