Audi’s latest S3 model now comes with a new option for tyre enthusiasts: the Falken Azenis RS820, a super-ultra high-performance (SUHP) tyre. This is the first new vehicle model to roll off the factory line equipped with this freshly-launched tyre.
The S3 is a powerhouse with its standard quattro all-wheel drive and a torque splitter, churning out 333 HP and 420 Nm of torque. Naturally, it needs a tyre that can match its high-performance needs. Enter the Falken Azenis RS820, crafted by Sumitomo Rubber Industries to deliver top-notch handling, stability, and control in all sorts of driving conditions.
This tyre features an asymmetric tread pattern with four circumferential tread grooves and an improved shoulder design, ensuring excellent road contact and lateral stability on dry roads.
Drawing upon motorsport technology
Borrowing from Falken’s motorsport expertise, the Azenis RS820 is packed with the latest compound and construction innovations. It includes a hybrid aramid reinforcement material and an optimised belt ply, which ensures even pressure distribution. This means you get a dynamic driving experience and enhanced safety.
The tyre’s circumferential tread ribs enhance lateral grip during cornering and maintain stable straight-line performance. Plus, the wide, deep grooves help displace water, reducing the risk of aquaplaning.
Advanced compound technology for longevity
A standout feature of the Azenis RS820 is its Advanced 4D NANO Design technology. This creates compounds with lower wear rates, extending the tyre’s lifespan. Recognising the importance of weight in high-performance vehicles, Falken’s engineers have used innovative construction and compound methods to keep the tyre as light as possible.
The result? A tyre that offers robust driving properties across a range of road surfaces and conditions, whether wet or dry. Falken supplies the 235/35 R19 tyres for both the S3 Sportback and the S3 Saloon, all manufactured in Ingolstadt, Germany.
