A survey commissioned by Apollo Tyres Ltd. suggests that 65 per cent of motorists in the UK would now consider going all-season when next replacing their tyres. The result of this OnePoll survey of 1,000 UK respondents reflects the continued growing popularity of tyres designed to perform well in conditions encountered throughout the entire year.
Vredestein, the long-established Dutch tyre brand that’s now part of the Apollo Tyres family, introduced its first all-season tyre back in 1993. The all-season segment was still in its infancy at the time, and since introducing this first Vredestein Quatrac, the tyre maker has introduced further all-season products to meet the needs of a very diverse range of vehicles. Vredestein now offer, says Apollo Tyres, a range that’s available “in a wider choice of sizes than any rival.” The current line-up includes the core Quatrac, the Quatrac Pro and Pro+ for high-performance cars and SUVs, and the Quatrac Pro EV – Europe’s first all-season tyre specifically engineered for electric vehicles.
Designed, developed and manufactured in Europe, all Vredestein Quatrac tyres feature a ‘deep V’ tread pattern and a large contact area that improves handling in the rain. Every tyre in the Quatrac line-up is certified for year-round use via the ‘Three-Peak Mountain Snowflake’ mark embossed on the sidewall.
Strong results in independent tests
Last month the Vredestein Quatrac secured first place in Auto Bild’s annual all-season tyre test, outperforming 14 competitors. The Auto Bild test team rated the Quatrac was as “exemplary” and praised the tyre for its “balanced performance,” “short braking distances” and “sporty and safe handling” in wet, dry and snowy conditions.
This latest victory adds to the Quatrac’s strong track record in independent testing. Apollo Tyres points out that Vredestein Quatrac is the only product in Auto Bild’s annual all-season tyre tests to consistently achieve top five rankings over six consecutive years. Closer to home, the Quatrac earned second place in an all-season tyre test conducted last year by Auto Express.
“All-season tyres are becoming increasingly popular among motorists who want the reassurance of being able to safely tackle fast-changing weather conditions, year-round,” comments Yves Pouliquen, Vice President, Commercial, Europe at Apollo Tyres. “With over three decades of expertise in all-season products, drivers can trust the Vredestein brand.”
