Maxxis Tyres describes itself as "the new standard in design, innovation and technology." A wholly-owned subsidiary of Cheng Shin Rubber, it is among the top 20 largest tyre companies in the world. In the late 2010s the brand began to deliver products to compete with those produced by global premium brands in independent tests, boosted by a new proving ground and technical centre in Shanghai, China. As well as performance tyres on the road, Maxxis specialises in extreme off-road tyres and motorsport products, and the brand has been active in on and off-track action, such as the spectacular sport of drifting.
