India's Apollo Tyres is among the world's 20 biggest tyre manufacturers. The company was incorporated in 1972, with its first plant commissioned in Perambra, Thrissur, Kerala, India. Apollo now manufactures tyres in a state-of-the-art, highly automated plant in Hungary, and thanks to its acquisition of the global Vredestein brand, in the Netherlands. It exports tyres to more than 100 countries.
